21 Infuriating Motivational Signs Employers Put Up At Work

Sometimes we all need a little pick me up to make it to the end of the work day. A little 4 pm coffee, bag of chips, or smoke on the corner can all be a good way to get those mental juices flowing again. What won't get the job done however, is a motivational poster on the wall from your boss who hasn't done anything all day except sit in his office and scroll through timeshares in the Bahamas.

The Redditor u/BikeGlass2335 shared one such poster to the r/antiwork subreddit, which had a strange message. "We are not in the same boat, but we are in the same storm," it says. "Some have canoes, some have yachts, and some are drowning. Just be kind and help where you can."

The unintentional implication of such a message is that the bosses have yachts, while the employees have canoes, or are drowning. "Help where you can" would also imply that those with yachts should come and pick up the people who are drowning since the effects of this imaginary storm are obviously disproportionally affecting certain groups. But no, the people who put up this poster just want their drowning employees to work harder so that they can make sure they get yachts.
